Meet the founders

Roz/Nic

This Q&A was updated in September, 2020.

A happy hello from our Founders, Roz Nazerian and Nic Graham.

The two friends met whilst studying at art school and quickly became the best of friends. Their commercial partnership journey in design began in 1997 when they started their London design studio, Minx Creative.

In October 2019, they and their talented creative team launched Storigraphic.

We sat them down and asked some quick-fire questions to feed our inquisitive minds.

What's the joy of what you do?
Roz: We get to do what we love. Every day.

We're ideas people, problem-solvers and practising designers. We work with much diversity and across many mediums, all types of creative briefs. It's a true privilege having the freedom to work without layers of internal politics and parameters.

What's the challenge of what you do?
Roz: This year has been a strange one for us (and for the world!). By our 6th month of trading, we were in lockdown and suddenly our planning for what was our first year had to change and fast. From what started as a negative challenge, we turned it to a positive and got working to putting in place an exciting, new path and ambitious direction.

Nic: Balancing home and work life has never been more challenging since our time in lockdown. As a working mum, it's been a constant challenge getting it at a good place with everything. I've come to the conclusion that we're doing well every day. Roz is very good at reminding me when I have lapse days!

How did Storigraphic come about?
Roz: Nic and I had spoken about publishing books for many years. We could see an opening to get our plans off the ground, finally. The crossover from what we do at our design studio to Storigraphic is a huge advantage, it seemed right to develop the idea and give everything we could to realise it as a business.

Nic: We wanted to sum up the loving bonds and connections people have in life through the medium of print and heart-warming, slightly quirky narrative.

Five books so far, what else is planned?
Nic: There will be more books and our stationery, gift and product collections will keep on growing.

Roz: 'Allsorts: A Visual Collection of Wonder' launched this month and we are so happy to see it go live! It's our newly designed range of positively wonderful statement stationery, gift products and accessories. Something for everyone and all occasions.

Nic: We're working hard on our Christmas store collection right now; introducing two new characters to lead on this year's theme.

The 'Will You?' book ends with a question. If you sent one to each other, what would you ask?
Nic: That’s a good one! I’m thinking it would be: Will you keep on making me laugh out loud!

Roz: Hmmmm! Mine would be: Will you give me your husband's classic car?!

Finally, what's your favourite planet?
Both: Saturn! (And planet Earth!)
